Limitless Love

I first visited the Kashmir valley in May 2004. I was meserized by the nature and just couldn't get enough of that place. We had a tight schedule and were left with only 1 day slot for visiting Gulmarg. Our cab arrived a bit late, and there was immense rush at the ticket counter for ropeway. Due to the time constraints, we couldn't board the Gondola.

I badly wanted to experience reaching 14000 ft and having snow all around me, even in Peak summers. I really enjoyed my trip but it somewhere felt incomplete because I was very excited to reach such a high-altitude.

*10 Years Later*
Meanwhile, I lost my husband and my daughter got married. My son and I planned to visit the valley after exactly 10 years, in 2014 (This was 2 days before the Kashmir floods). There was some heavy rainfall in the valley, but we reached Gulmarg on time (and had our tickets pre-booked to save time). The weather was a bit rough, but Gondola was operating fine and we were able to reach till the topmost station. I was happy, but there was no Snow, so we decided to do some challenging trekking (Over giant rocks) at over 14000 feet! My son and I (now over 50 years old) trekked for over an hour, till we reached the top of Apharwat Peak and also the frozen lake. There was snow all around us. This was very close to the LOC. I felt a big sense of achievement, and this concluded not just one, but two of my Kashmir trips.

I still can not describe the feeling in words, but I hope you can get an idea of how passionate I am about travelling, and infact about anything I want to achieve.
