I first visited the Kashmir valley in May 2004. I was meserized by the nature and just couldn't get enough of that place. We had a tight schedule and were left with only 1 day slot for visiting Gulmarg. Our cab arrived a bit late, and there was immense rush at the ticket counter for ropeway. Due to the time constraints, we couldn't board the Gondola. I badly wanted to experience reaching 14000 ft and having snow all around me, even in Peak summers. I really enjoyed my trip but it somewhere felt incomplete because I was very excited to reach such a high-altitude. *10 Years Later* Meanwhile, I lost my husband and my daughter got married. Chaayos is one of my favourite places to spend time and enjoy some good food. Excellent menu and the best place to have a lovely tea that can be made according to your wish. 12 different add ons in the tea like ginger, fennel, cardamom, etc just love it. It's the only place I know that does it. They also serve great sandwiches which is a bonus! Chaayos aims to serve a great cup of tea with a twist...or 12,000, as its owners claim that a simple cup of tea here can be customised in 12,000 different ways. Chaayos also has a range of green teas, with God's Chai, made of kangra masala, leading the pack. The natural sweetness of the spices gives this chai a pleasant and rounded flavour. The most interesting chais, however, would have to be the Aampapad Chai and the Gur Wali Chai (Winters special !!).
